Young woman suffering gunshot wound brought to CT hospital

Police found out a woman had been shot when they were notified she had been taken to a hospital, police said.

Hartford Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of the block of 100 Greenwich Street after receiving a ShotSpotter notification late Saturday night, police said. The Shotspotter system detects gunfire.

The officers found evidence of gunfire at the scene, police said. While the officers remained on scene, the dispatch center was notified that a gunshot victim had arrived at St. Francis Hospital for treatment, police said.

The victim, a female in her twenties, was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was listed in stable condition, police said. The incident occurred just before midnight, police sai
