PORTLAND, Maine (WABI) - A Freeport man is recovering after being stabbed in the face in Portland Saturday in what authorities are calling an “unprovoked” attack.
Portland Police responded to Longfellow Square Park around 8 p.m. to find a 66-year-old man who was suffering from knife wounds to his face.
He was taken to a Portland hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Portland Police say they arrested Donald Couisino, 48, who is unhoused, and charged him with aggravated assault.
Couisino was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
Police say the two men did not know each other.
