SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - A man was airlifted to a hospital after being shot Saturday in Sumter, according to police.

The Sumter Police Department said the shooting occurred sometime before 2:30 p.m., but was unable to immediately provide a specific location.

The department also noted that the shooting was initially reported in the county, but it was later determined that it happened within city limits.

The man shot was airlifted to a hospital in Florence. No additional word was provided on his condition as of Sunday morning.
