SUMMERTON, S.C. (WIS) - A Midlands food bank says much of its food has been stolen after a reported break-in.
The Summerton Food Bank took to Facebook early Sunday, stating that its storage facility had been broken into and food intended for the food bank had been stolen.
According to the food bank, among the items stolen were meats and most of its canned vegetables and nonperishable goods.
“Easily thousands of dollars of resources for our food bank are gone,” the food bank wrote in its post.
The post also states that soups for an upcoming event to benefit local senior citizens were also gone.
