SYLVA, NC (LOOTPRESS) — A Sylva man is behind bars after a shocking domestic violence incident Friday morning left a woman’s clothing burned from her body and caused significant damage inside a Chipper Curve Road home.

Police say the call came in at 7:18 a.m. on November 21, 2025, sending officers rushing to 587 Chipper Curve Road for reports of a domestic dispute. What they discovered, investigators say, was a situation that escalated into a life-threatening act of violence.

A Verbal Fight Turns Violent

According to Sylva Police, Patrick Tyson and a female victim became involved in a heated verbal altercation. During the confrontation, Tyson allegedly grabbed a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and poured it onto the floor—then onto the couch where the woman was sitting.
