PHOENIX — After a brief break in the action on Friday, rain once again began falling over the Valley on Saturday afternoon and left many areas soaked with more than half an inch of precipitation into Sunday morning.

According to Maricopa County’s Flood Control District, 26 of its measurable areas for precipitation received more than one inch over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

Nearly all of the wettest recorded places were in Scottsdale and north Phoenix, including Pinnacle Peak and Horseshoe Ranch. East Valley cities such as Mesa and Gilbert saw as much as 0.79 inches of rain during the timeframe.
