Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has admitted that she ‘needs to be patient’ after fans spotted her in the BBC dancing competition’s annual Blackpool special.

The Welsh native was was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023, before undergoing a single mastectomy and chemotherapy treatment. Amy made her return to Strictly the following year after being told by doctors there was ‘no evidence of disease’ in February 2024.

Shortly after her and Apprentice star Thomas Skinner became the first couple to be sent home from Strictly this year, Amy revealed that she was having a second mastectomy. The 35-year-old confirmed earlier in the month that the procedure wasn't to treat a new cancer, but was a decision made with her medical team following a recent appointment.
