RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Police are searching for the driver who struck a pedestrian early Saturday morning in the 1200 block of Broad Rock Boulevard.

Officers responded at about 4:10 a.m. after reports of a person lying in the roadway. They found an adult man injured in the left travel lane on the south side of Broad Rock Boulevard, between Belt Boulevard and Clover Lane. Police said the man had been struck by a vehicle.

He was taken to a hospital and remains in life‑threatening condition. The driver fled the scene without stopping or rendering aid. Investigators say the pedestrian was crossing from the north to the south side of the street, heading toward Southwood Parkway, when he was struck.

The investigation is ongoing.
