TEL AVIV: Israel killed the head of the military wing of the Lebanese Hezbollah group, Ali Tabtai, in an airstrike on a building in the southern part of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Saturday.

Two other people were reportedly killed. 25 people were injured and several vehicles were damaged. Two people were killed in an Israeli attack targeting southern Lebanon on Saturday.

This is the first attack by Israel targeting Beirut in months. It is reported that the attack was carried out after Mossad received news of Hezbollah rebuilding military capabilities, which includes the production of explosive bombs.

Hezbollah, a Shia Muslim outfit, is supported by Iran.
