With nearly the entire roster back from a team that made a run to the regional finals, the Patrick Henry girls basketball team is expected to repeat as champions of the Northwest Ohio Athletic League.
The Patriots went 25-2 and reached the Division VI regional final where they fell 45-41 to Columbus Grove. Patrick Henry went undefeated in the NWOAL (7-0) to win the program’s first league title since 2006.
The Patriots of seventh-year coach Justin Sonnenberg were the unanimous favorites, receiving all eight first-place votes in a preseason poll of NWOAL coaches.
Archbold is picked to finish second followed by Delta, Bryan, Wauseon, Evergreen, Liberty Center, and Swanton.
