PLYMOUTH, N.C. (WITN) - The town of Plymouth has ordered the Plymouth Food Pantry to vacate by December 1, following a vote at a council meeting.

A letter, obtained by WITN, from the town manager was sent to the food pantry on Thursday, stating they have until 5 p.m. on December 1 to stop operations and vacate the building.

It comes after a November 10 town council meeting , where the council voted 3-1 for the Plymouth Food Pantry to vacate the town property due to no lease being in place. The motion was added to the agenda under compliance issues at the end of the meeting.

Council member Crystal Davis, the incoming mayor, initiated the motion, claiming there is no record of the food pantry having a lease.
