A Waterville man was sentenced last month to time served for posting comments on YouTube threatening to hunt down and kill undocumented immigrants along with Democratic political figures , according to prosecutors and court filings.

Benjamin Brown, 47, served approximately six months in jail before he was sentenced on Oct. 7. He will also serve three years of supervised release, prosecutors said.

Brown was arrested last year and in June pleaded guilty to making threatening interstate communications.

After watching videos on YouTube that “had been going viral due to their objectionable nature,” Brown made numerous comments saying he intended to kill a range of Democratic figures and “illegal immigrants,” according to court records beginning in 2021.
