Polk County boys soccer’s bid for its third state championship in program history came up just short.

No. 2 Wallace-Rose Hill (19-4-1) used two second-half goals to defeat No. 1 Polk County 2-0 in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 3A state championship game at Guilford College on Nov. 22.

It was Polk County's first loss of the 2025 season.
