LEXINGTON, Ky. — As families search for the perfect Christmas tree, Kentucky tree farmer Thomas Neiman says the joy on customers’ faces keeps him going — even in a challenging year.

“It does my heart good to see somebody leave with a really nice tree and they’re really happy,” Neiman said. “And they come back the next year and say, 'That was the best tree we ever had.'”

Neiman said people from across Kentucky, Tennessee and surrounding states make it a tradition to come to his family's farm every holiday season to pick out their perfect tree.

The Neiman's Christmas Tree Farm , which entered the season with about 1,000 trees for sale. More than half have already been purchased as the holiday rush ramps up.
