GREEN BAY - When the Green Bay Packers held a comfortable 23-6 lead over the Minnesota Vikings , it allowed the defense to put even more pressure on inexperienced quarterback J.J. McCarthy and forced him to throw the ball.
After missing a lot of opportunities for interceptions the previous week against New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston, the Packers capitalized against the Vikings .
With 7 minutes, 35 seconds to go in the game, McCarthy was looking for a checkdown throw in the middle of the field to running back Aaron Jones. As he went to make the pass, Rashan Gary came off the edge and got his hand on McCarthy’s throwing arm to change the trajectory of the ball, turning it into a higher throw over Jones’ head. Right there waiting was Isaiah McDuffie, who picked it off
