EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - On Saturday, volunteers helped beautify the Baker Woodlot & Rajendra Neotropical Migrant Bird Sanctuary on Michigan State University’s campus by participating in the invasive species workday.
The workday consisted of removing invasive trees and plants.
Carolyn Miller, who organized the event and serves as the arboretum and invasive species coordinator for MSU, shared why she loves doing these types of events.
“I love to get students involved in projects like this because then when they graduate, they can say that they start, you know, they worked on this. They helped to restore this habitat. And to me that’s the greatest thing,” Miller said.
