BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Susan Wagner ran into the PSAL girls’ volleyball dynasty known as John Jay Sunday at Brooklyn College and the result was a 2-0 loss for the Falcons in the PSAL 3A city title match.

Head coach Marco Altieri’s club, which was seeking its first crown since 2012, dropped sets of 25-19 and 25-14. John Jay captured its fourth straight city championship.

“Lexi Moore (John’s Jay’s top player) was an absolute game changer today,” lamented Altieri, who suffered his third title loss since he began coaching in 2002. “Our defense kept us in the first set, but in the second set, Lexi and John Jay found holes and put too much pressure on us for us to get in a rhythm.” 45
