GLENS FALLS—At every clutch moment in its season, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK seemingly found a way to get the job done. The Hawks needed one more moment in the state final, but couldn’t overcome their uphill battle.
Lancaster (Section VI) defeated Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, 3-1 (26-24, 25-18, 18-25, 25-16), in the state Class AAA final at Harding Mazzotti Arena in Glens Falls on Sunday morning.
“They came out with a lot of energy and obviously, we tried to play our game, but things weren’t going our way,” Dylan Katz said. “We really didn’t play clean enough to compete with them.”
Addison Dove had back-to-back kills and Bella Sallie added another to give POB a 16-14 lead in the first set. Lancaster answered with a 5-0 run to retake the lead.
