Defenceman Carson Woodall never attended a Teddy Bear Toss game growing up.

The Belle River native has plenty of fond memories growing up watching the Windsor Spitfires win the 2017 Memorial Cup.

But on Sunday, the 19-year-old Woodall became a part of Spitfire lore by scoring the fastest Teddy Bear Toss goal in club history in what would be a 5-1 win for Windsor over the Guelph Storm at the WFCU Centre.

“I just tried to make the right play,” said Woodall, who scored 93 seconds into the game to break the old mark of one minute and 52 seconds set by Justin Shugg in 2009. “I wasn’t really thinking about the Teddy Bear toss goal, but I kind of just got a shot, took it and scored and kind of froze.
