AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Arkansas football team (2-9, 0-7 SEC) had a bit more time to process a 52-37 loss to No. 17 Texas on Saturday compared to weeks past.
For starters, Arkansas didn't hold a fourth-quarter lead like in its most recent losses to Auburn on Oct. 25, Mississippi State on Nov. 1 and LSU on Nov. 15.
The Longhorns (8-3, 5-2) led 45-23 to begin the fourth quarter. Texas defensive end Colin Simmons and linebacker Liona Lefau teamed up for a strip-sack fumble and 52-yard touchdown on the recovery with 11:30 to play. The blindside hit on Arkansas backup quarterback KJ Jackson left no doubt in a ninth straight loss, despite two late touchdowns by the redshirt freshman.
