Health experts have issued an important scarf warning as approximately two million Britons could be at risk during cold weather . People with certain heart conditions are more vulnerable in the cold, according to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
On its website , the BHF has urged people with angina to "wear a scarf wrapped loosely around your mouth and nose" during chilly conditions. Alternatively, you could wear a face mask.
This is to ensure the air you breathe in is warm. "This may help to limit your symptoms if they get worse in the winter," the BHF said.
In general, cold weather can have an adverse effect on people with any heart condition. The BHF explained:
