John Macdonald: Carrick pensioner reaches for the sky once more, seven decades after his first flying lessons in old biplane

John Macdonald, who was born in 1935, first took flying lessons in the Fifties but was forced to end them after no longer being able to afford the cost, and as a result did not receive his piloting licence.
