From 1911 to 1965, Dr. William Graham Mainprize served the Midale area. Considering his work to be his ministry, he had a profound impact on several generations here in the southeast.

Filmmaker Jack Hilkewich of Midale was one of countless babies delivered by Dr. Mainprize in 1964. He grew up in the community connected not only by geography, but by a special story and storied history heavily influenced by 'the Doc'.

In 2011, the spark ignited for the creation of what would become the documentary, 'Mainprize', which made its debut at Mainprize Regional Park in the summer of 2025. Anyone can view the two-hour, 13-minute Director's Cut HERE.
