COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman is dead and another is injured after a crash near Easton Town Center in northeast Columbus Monday morning.
The crash happened at Stelzer and Codet roads around 2:45 a.m., according to a Columbus public safety dispatcher.
Columbus police said a 2019 Mazda Mazda6 was heading south on Stelzer Road when it lost control and went off the right side of the road. The car then struck an electric pole.
The woman, who police said was the passenger, was taken to Mount Carmel East hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead at 3:23 a.m. Police identified her as 20-year-old Tamya Barnett.
The driver of the Mazda was taken to the same hospital and their condition was described as stable.
The crash remains under investigation.
