MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -The YMCA of Dane County needs help filling a record 286 requests for essential items for families through its annual Giving Tree Program.

Now through Friday, Dec. 5, people can visit any YMCA branch in East or West Madison, or in Sun Prairie to support this annual effort that provides household essentials like clothing, diapers, and bedding for families.

According to the YMCA of Dane County, there has been a record increase in the number of requests for assistance this year compared to 2024. Last year the program received 186 requests. The YMCA collects these requests by working with partners in the community.
