Myanmar's military has continued its destruction and dismantling of scam centers, part of a large scale operation which started in November.
MRTV footage showed one sprawling compound, a well-known scam center, KK Park, being demolished in Myawaddy, Myanmar.
Myanmar is notorious for hosting cyberscam operations responsible for bilking people all over the world.
Scams usually involve gaining victims’ confidence online with romantic ploys and bogus investment schemes.
Authorities raided KK Park in mid-October on the outskirts of a major trading town on the border with Thailand.
In footage aired on local media Sunday, buildings in KK Park were seen being demolished with explosions and by excavators.
Video from other unspecified locations showed soldiers raiding compounds, detaining alleged scam workers and destroying computers.
On Tuesday last week, the army raided a scam compound in the town of Shwe Kokko, also near Myawaddy, military spokesman Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said in a statement published Wednesday in Myanma Alinn and other state newspapers.
