WILKES-BARRE — Months after Jose Sandoval Perez allegedly fired shots inside a Hazleton tavern in May resulting in the death of a Nanticoke man, Luzerne County prosecutors added a manslaughter charge to his case.
Sandoval Perez, 27, of Seybert Street, Hazleton, was initially charged by Hazleton City police detectives with firearms not to be carried without a license, reckless endangerment and theft for the alleged shooting inside Sazon Latino Bar and Restaurant on Alter Street on May 25, according to court records.
Jeuris Sanchez Alvarez, 30, who was inside the tavern, died from multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide by the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.
