State pensioners face being pursued by HMRC for £200.17 - thanks to frozen tax thresholds. Labour Party Chancellor Rachel Reeves has been tipped to freeze income tax bands during her Autumn Budget on November 26.

The address in the Commons on Wednesday means state pensioners are at risk from HMRC bills, because the Triple Lock - a pledge which means the state pension payments increase year-on-year - hands them extra cash.

But frozen thresholds and the increase means state pensioners face their payments from the Department for Work and Pensions, or DWP , rising above the HMRC allowance.
