Pugh's are going to open a garden centre and kitchen in Monmouthshire after winning approval despite a local backlash (Image: WalesOnline/Rob Browne)
A planned garden centre and restaurant in Abergavenny has been granted an alcohol licence despite a backlash from locals. The Welsh family-run firm Pugh's received planning permission earlier this year to open its second Garden Kitchen by Pugh's store at a former furniture shop in the Monmouthshire town.
But residents of the Pegasus Court retirement flats, located just across Mill Street, raised concerns about potential noise increase and customers using their private car park.
Bob Richardson, chairman of the residents' association, represented 17 aggrieved neighbours at Monmouthshire County Council's licensing sub-committee hearing
