LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - The Lenoir County Board of Elections will hold formal hearings on two election protests filed after Kinston’s municipal election.
Tonight’s hearing is for protests filed against mayor-elect Kareem Moore and city council candidate Les Lipford.
Lenoir County GOP Sean Keenan filed an amended protest against Lipford, claiming that Lipford either lives outside the city or that he falsified loan documents.
Keenan’s initial protest was dismissed, with the board saying there was not enough information to move forward with a hearing.
Maria President’s protest, questioning Moore’s residency, will also have a formal hearing.
Another protest on Moore’s residency, filed by Tanya Sutton, was dismissed because there wasn’t enough evidence provided.
