Police attended a protest outside a Glasgow primary following a " misguided and toxic" campaign which wrongly alleged that migrants would be attending English lessons at the school without proper checks.
The demonstration, at Dalmarnock Primary in Glasgow's east end , is being led by Alex Cairnie of the Spartan Child Protection Team, as well as controversial podcaster Craig Houston. The pair told their followers that they discovered a "loophole" allowing adults without vetting to take English lessons at the school.
Photos from the scene show protestors holding placards reading, "kids before council convenience", "protect our kids" and "our school is for children, not adults". Police officers are present at the demonstration and have been seen engaging with the protesters, reports
