HURLEY, N.Y. – Town Board approval has been given to a $5.11 million 2026 budget carrying a 14.73% increase of $656,146.

Under the spending approved on Tuesday, Nov. 18, there will be a $2.96 million property tax levy representing a 12.85% increase of $337,030.

The steepest increase comes from debt service at $331,505 for a 532.04% increase of $279,055.

“We bought four new trucks to replace four dead trucks,” Supervisor Michael Boms said. “The bond payment on that is $280,000 every year for five years.”

There will also be more expenses for the second year of a townwide ambulance district, with the $516,500 cost amounting to a 14.78% increase of $66,500.
