The Penguins announced a few roster moves Monday morning, one impacting a young player who needs game action and another continuing a theme this season of NHL debuts.

Pittsburgh recalled forward Tristan Broz from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, tabbing a forward who’s been productive and deserves an NHL shot.

Broz, 23, was a second-round pick out of the University of Denver in 2021. In 18 AHL games this season, Broz has eight goals and 13 points. He’s also a plus-5.

In 59 games last season, his first as a pro, Broz accumulated 19 goals and 37 points in 59 games.

If/when Broz makes his NHL debut, he would be the 32nd player the Penguins have used this season. Only the Canucks have relied on more.
