The U.S. Postal Service has proposed raising prices for shipping services starting in January 2026.
This price change will not affect the cost of a First-Class Mail stamp.
The proposed increases are part of the USPS's 10-year plan to achieve financial stability.
Shipping costs are poised to get just a little bit more expensive.
While the change would happen after the holiday rush to get packages in the mail , the U.S. Postal Service has taken the first steps to raise prices in the new year.
On Nov. 17, a notice about a possible price increase was filed with the Postal Regulatory Commission, which oversees the Postal Service. If approved by the USPS governors, the price hike will start Jan. 18, 2026.
First-class stamps are not part of the price changed, the USPS said.
