BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
The University of Alabama at Birmingham football team is entering the final week of its season while players are also dealing with two of their teammates stabbed by another player on campus before last week's game.
Interim head coach Alex Mortensen said on Monday that he has sat with the injured players and they have left the hospital as they continue to recover.
"They appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers," Mortensen said as he asked for people to respect their privacy.
The coach said the well-being of everyone is most important.
