Deputies with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a black Nissan Infiniti just after midnight on Friday, Nov. 21, on Lapeer Road west of Wadhams Road due to the lack of a visible license plate.
The driver, identified by police as Virginia Smith, fled the area, disregarding lights and sirens, according to a Monday, Nov. 24, news release from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the driver continued to head north on Lapeer Road, speeding and repeatedly crossing into oncoming traffic.
