Glasgow’s festive waste strategy for the upcoming Christmas season is set to be confirmed at a city council committee meeting tomorrow afternoon.
A document being presented to the environment and liveable neighbourhood committee highlights how winter can be a challenging time for the council’s waste management services because of the weather and more waste being generated per household.
In a bid to ensure bin collections are delivered effectively the council’s NRS ( Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability) team has come up with a festive delivery plan to support front line operations.
It comes after the festive waste plan for 2023/24 was impacted significantly which led to ongoing delays to services, delivery and an increase in complaints from residents.
