WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump will continue a White House Thanksgiving tradition on Tuesday, when he pardons this year’s National Thanksgiving Turkey.
The presentation, which is celebrating its 78th anniversary , will take place at the White House with First Lady Melania Trump also joining the ceremony. As always, two turkeys are getting the full presidential treatment. This year’s pair, “Gobble” and “Waddle,” were named through an online vote led by North Carolina 4H and FFA students.
According to the White House, Gobble, weighing 52 pounds, enjoys Bojangles biscuits and “making birdies” at Pinehurst No. 2. The 50-pound Waddle loves sweet potatoes with extra marshmallows and dreams of becoming a “hype bird” for NC State’s Wolf Pack.
