SALT LAKE CITY — A person who police said barricaded themselves inside an Ivans, Utah home on Saturday is in police custody.
Officers from the Santa Clara-Ivins Police Department responded to a domestic violence report near Painted Hills Drive and Sand Bio Drive in Ivins on Saturday night.
Upon arrival, according to the Santa Clara-Ivins Chief of Police, the person barricaded in a residence refused to comply with officer commands.
At that point, the Washington County Metro SWAT Team was called.
The SWAT team eventually breached the residence, where they reportedly used chemical agents “to resolve the situation without further escalation,” said Chief Jaron Studley.
After using the chemical agents, the suspect left the home and was taken into custody.
