The Rockies are making Warren Schaeffer -- who served as interim manager for a large part of the 2025 season -- their full-time skipper, the team announced on Monday.
Schaeffer took over as skipper in early May after the team parted ways with longtime manager Bud Black, who had been at the helm since 2017. The team went 36-86 after Schaeffer became manager, but he now gets a clean slate entering 2026.
“We’re confident Warren is the right person to lead our club moving forward,” said Rockies president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta. “He has established strong relationships with our players, understands the culture of this franchise and embodies the energy and work ethic we want on and off the field.”
The 40-year-old Schaeffer played six seasons in the Rockies’ Minor League syste
