When the Bengals opened Joe Burrow's 21-day window a couple weeks ago, the star quarterback's return from a turf toe injury was imminent. That time is now.
And, of course, Burrow knew just the photo to use to announce the news.
Ahead of Thursday's Thanksgiving matchup against the Ravens, Bengals coach Zac Taylor announced that Burrow would officially be activated off injured reserve and start the Week 13 night game. In Burrow's absence, the Bengals' season effectively fell apart. But it was clear that Burrow can't wait to get back.
He reacted to the news with his viral LeBron James jersey photo, and you know what, it worked perfectly here.
The backstory behind that photo goes back to when LeBron returned to Cleveland after his time with the Heat. Burrow grew up in The Plains, Ohio, and is a Cavaliers fan. So, when LeBron announced his Cavs return in 2014, a young Burrow found the old LeBron jersey from when he was 9 years old and put it on.
How's that for a full-circle moment? Burrow is back.
