Eric Dane is making his return to TV after his ALS diagnosis .

While the “Countdown” star has been onscreen since going public with his health struggles earlier this year, his role in “Brilliant Minds” is the first project he filmed post-diagnosis.

The actor, 53, will play a firefighter named Matthew struggling to tell his family about his ALS on Monday night’s episode of the NBC show, according to People .

The outlet’s sneak peek took place in a hospital waiting room alongside Zachary Quinto as Dr. Oliver Wolf.

When Dane’s character said it was “always good to see” the doctor, Quinto referred to him as “Bronx Gen’s favorite silver fox.”

Dane sat in a chair while wearing a teal football jersey in the scene.
