Fairfield Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with the Fairfield Co. Coroner’s Office say a body was found in a wooded area in Winnsboro.

Investigators say the remains were found off of Newberry Rd. on Thursday.

Officials say they worked with the Davidson Co. Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina to determine the remains were those of Jonathan Shores, 33, of Mocksville, NC.

Shores had been reported missing on November 11th.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
