ANDERSON, Ind. — A 40-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Madison County early Sunday morning.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department said officers responded to a home in the 8000 block of W. CR 1800N just before 2 a.m. Nov. 23.

A 911 caller allegedly told officers that he had shot another man inside the home after "intervening in a domestic situation," police said.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department said there were two people inside the home at the time of the shooting, and that they are cooperating with officers in the investigation.
