CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Two traffic cameras on I-380 in Cedar Rapids will start issuing warnings next month.
The cameras are located at J Avenue on the northbound side and First Avenue on the southbound side. Both locations are where drivers exit the “S-Curve” on Interstate 380.
The cameras were shut off due to a law passed last year requiring the city to get approval from the Department of Transportation (DOT). The Iowa DOT approved an appeal to turn the cameras back on a couple weeks ago.
The city says the cameras are needed to help control speed and ensure safety on the curve.
The cameras will begin a warning phase on December 2, and tickets will be sent out starting January 1.
