The city of Greenville's public camping ordinance is set to come to a second and final vote on Nov. 24 after it passed a first reading on Nov. 10.
The city's public camping ordinance would ban someone from sleeping or living on public property, except for recreational reasons like "napping, sunbathing or resting in a park during normal use." Council member John DeWorken first drafted the policy, which drew heavy criticism when it was proposed in June.
