TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - With the holiday shopping season officially kicking off this week, a local school is offering an opportunity to get a gift for a girl in need.

The Pace Center for Girls in Leon County has officially opened its Sponsor a Girl for Christmas initiative.

From self-care items to school supplies, games and more, girls ages 11 through 17 will receive the gifts.

Nelia Bebe, development director for the center, said the gifts are a way to remind the girls that our community cares about them.

“As you know, families are facing hard times, and so we wanted to fill in those gaps and make a Christmas special here for our girls at Pace Leon.”
