McMinnville High School students staged a walkout Monday to protest federal immigration enforcement, days after agents detained a high school senior on his lunch break.

About 300 students walked out of school “in response to the ICE activity in our community last week,” McMinnville School District Interim Superintendent Kourtney Ferrua said in a statement.

Videos on social media showed hundreds of young people and others lining Northwest Adams Street, many holding signs protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
