ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -More than 600 students joined forces to form a line from their campus to load frozen turkeys into St. Louis area food bank trucks on Monday.
Last year, Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School collected nearly 6,000 pounds of non-perishable food items, 3,600 pounds of turkey and nearly $1,200 through a virtual food drive. Enough food to provide an estimated 19,000 meals. This is part of its yearly Thanksgiving Turkey Train.
This is the 22nd year the school has held the Turkey Train.
