Tara Reid suffered a health scare over the weekend after the actress was allegedly drugged during an incident at a hotel in the Chicago area.
The "American Pie" actress, 50, was hospitalized Sunday, Nov. 23, after falling unconscious while staying at a hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, Reid told TMZ in a report published Monday.
The outlet also obtained footage of Reid following the alleged incident. The actress, seemingly incoherent, is seen being helped into a wheelchair by what appears to be hotel security. Reid was later placed on a stretcher as paramedics transferred her from the hotel.
Reid, who reportedly checked into the hotel on Saturday night, claimed the drugging took place after ordering a drink at the hotel bar. After stepping outside to smoke a cigarette, Reid said she returned to find her drink covered with a napkin that she hadn't used.
Reid told TMZ she removed the napkin from the glass and proceeded to drink her beverage. The actress said she doesn't remember the events afterward, only her stay in the hospital.
In a statement to USA TODAY, Reid's representative Jane Owen said Reid has filed a police report due to an incident "in which she believes her drink was tampered with." Owen added that the actress is "cooperating fully" with the authorities' investigation.
"Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time," Owen said. "She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone."
USA TODAY has reached out to the Rosemont Public Safety Department for comment.
Reid, best known for her roles in the "American Pie" films, "The Big Lebowski" and the "Sharknado" franchise, has previously opened up about her experience with substance abuse.
Reid, who checked herself into Malibu's Promises rehabilitation center in December 2008, told InTouch Weekly in a February 2009 interview that committing to her sobriety was "the greatest decision I ever made."
"I didn't like the person I was. I was sad and conflicted," Reid said at the time. "Before, I used to think about tomorrow, and I hated it. Now I can't wait because I am clean and sober and I am excited."
